The Project |

The Audiovisual Telematics Park is a € 120M integrated technology park over 47,000 sq.m. for audiovisual, interactive, immersive and cross-media productions and producers of the highest artistic and technological level, as well as for emerging multi-platform thematic digital channels.
It is being developed by Tecnoconsult International Ltd, along with the constituting Digital Artist' Studios and several other sector-leading partners.
It will offer a set of professional and hospitality services, unique in their comprehensiveness, as well as some beyond-state-of the-art technical and telematic audiovisual services. It will open in autumn 2012 on 12 hectares in the Municipality of Formello, a mere 4-minutes-drive from Rome's ring road.
Initial agreements are in place for the management, investment and development of the Studios infrastructure with Kit Digital, Kaltura, Euroscena. Advanced discussions are underway with leading international VFX companies and festivals.
Located 200 meters from dozens of industry leaders already located in the manufacturing area of Formello, with further audiovisual facilities planned, it will be the centerpiece of the constituting Audiovisual Telematics Park Consortium, which will complement the second audiovisual production center in Europe as for number of studios.

Besides the Digital Artists Studios, the many Services and Initiatives, the project will include:

The Future Media Center, a training, research and incubation center for video and interactive media, made up of the following institutions (which will also have access to 5 multi-purpose auditorium halls totalling 800 seats):
- 1.600 sq.m of SAE Institute, the world's largest audio and video technology university, which will host 250 students, half of them expected from abroad.
- 1.200 sq.m of Qantm, for a paneuropean hub for game design training, game development, crossmedia/emerging multiplatform, online gaming and Internet-native thematic channels.
- 1.500 sq.m of BIC Lazio incubator for start-ups focusing on innovative audiovisual production and distribution technologies, especially free/open source software.
- 400 sq.m of Faculty of Communication Sciences of Rome's University "La Sapienza", which has formally expressed interest in setting up Master and intensive courses in audiovisual interactive and cross-media contents, strategies and formats.
- 400 sq.m of Department of Computer and System Sciences of "La Sapienza", which has formally expressed interest in setting up Master and intensive courses in audiovisual and cross-media technologies.
- 500 sq.m of Higher Technical Audiovisual Institute, an High School forming audiovisual professionals.
- 400 sq.m of Open Audiovisual Technologies Institute: Master and intensive courses focused on free/open source and cross-media technologies for audiovisual production and distribution, including a laboratory. (Manager: Telematics Park, Telematics Freedom Foundation)
- 1.800 sq.m of Universal Audiovisual Archive: over 1,500 TB of audiovisual content under free, public domain and proprietary licenses, as well as over 20,000 DVD/BluRay classics accessible through the LAN. (Managers/Suppliers: Cisco, Wikipedia, Kaltura, Telematics Freedom Foundation)

7.900 sq.m of office and meeting space and audiovisual services laboratories, including to date:
- 1,300 sq.m of Telematics Park Video Business Center. A business center offering a large range of generic and specialistic audiovisual services, with a secondary branch of 600 sq.m in the Prati district.
- 2.500 sq.m of multi-screen multi-purpose facility with 5 rooms for 800 people, available for training and e-learning activities, audiovisual festivals, film premieres, conventions and conferences, artistic performances, commercial film screenings; equipped with servers open to any standard format equipped for stereoscopy, 2K and 4K HD, tele-presence and augmented reality.
- 500 sq.m of Studio 301, world leader in cinema audio post-production, with the topmost skills in Neve equipment.
- 7.900 sq.m of short and long-term residences and 4-star hotel, connected to the wellness center. (Manager: Park and/or to-be identified partners)
- 7.900 sq.m of services and retail center and restaurants, which will offer all kind of services to people working in businesses settled in the Park (bank branches, health services, post office and more) including a wide choice of restaurants and bars.

Video Production |

The Park will create a state-of-the-art one-stop-shop destination for internationalizing European video productions, by combining on one site: complete hosting package (such as residences, hotel, car rentals, top wellness center, restaurants), artistic and technological competencies, full production tutoring services, and last but not least, the fantastic weather and venues offered by Rome. |
